Terms and Conditions for Petition Station

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of PetitionStation.com and EducationalTools.PetitionStation.com (collectively referred to as “the Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using this Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of the Platform

Petition Station is an online platform that provides educational tools, legislative resources, and access to independent educators and vendors. The platform is designed to facilitate nonpartisan, policy-specific legislative change.

• No Employment Relationship:
  No user, member, educator, or vendor is an employee of Petition Station. All educators and vendors are independent contractors or third-party content providers.

• Membership-Based Access:
  All users are members of the platform. Some features are freely available, while others require a membership subscription.

2. Political Neutrality and Code of Conduct

Petition Station is committed to providing a nonpartisan platform for policy-focused education and advocacy.

• No Political Affiliation Endorsements:
  Users, vendors, or educators must not use the Platform to promote, support, or criticize any specific political party.

• Violation Consequences:

  • A first offense will result in a written warning.

  • Vendors and educators must retract or remove any political party-specific content within 72 hours of notice.

  • Failure to comply will result in termination of the account and subdomain without refund or recovery of data.

• Subdomain Responsibility:
  Subdomains operated by educators or vendors (e.g., for specific legislative petitions) are independently operated and not owned or endorsed by Petition Station.

• Neutral Legislative Language Requirement:
  All legislative content must avoid naming political parties. Any vendor, member, or educator must remove party-specific language within 48 hours of being notified.
  Failure to do so will result in the deletion of the subdomain and all associated content. Petition Station will not be liable for any data loss or damages resulting from such deletion.

3. Refunds and Violations

• No Refunds Upon Violation:
  Any violation of these Terms, including political neutrality, content misuse, or policy infringement, results in forfeiture of any refund rights.

4. Legal Liability and Damages

• False Claims:
  If a vendor, member, or educator brings a lawsuit against Petition Station based on a claim that violates these Terms, and the claim is found to be false, the guilty party agrees to pay damages equal to 10 times the amount of the false claim.

• Acknowledgement of Responsibility:
  By using the Platform, you acknowledge that misunderstanding these policies or claiming ignorance does not excuse violations. In cases where gross negligence or incompetence results in false claims, the violating party agrees to issue a public apology.

5. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to any part of the Platform for violations of these Terms or any behavior that contradicts our mission of neutrality, civil discourse, and policy-focused activism.

6. Intellectual Property

All content developed and published directly by Petition Station is the property of the Platform and may not be reused without written permission. Content developed by vendors or educators remains their responsibility and intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
